Glen,

Doing a quick search in Google (www.google.com.au), the top resulting site is: http://www.landtaxreformsa.org

I suggest you look into greater use of the search tools available on the web.

Cheers,

Yes and if a person reads and uses info at http://www.google.com.au/help/refinesearch.html , the answers start jumping out. www.oreilly.com actually publish a handy book "Google Pocket Guide" that goes into a great amount of ( very good ) detail.

Learning how to use google is a excellent investment If u are searching for information.

Hi
Thanks for your reply, I will now be trying Google.
The reason that I keep introducing these threads is to generate awareness and discussion (which appears to be happening, just look at the number of hits that have occurred on the thread "Land Tax is SENDING US BROKE" compared with other threads that were generated at the same time) because I believe that Land Tax is a very serious issue, and will become a huge burdon on ALL Property Investors and Tenants because the Tax will have to come from somewhere, either out of the Investors Retirement Funds, or Rents will have to increase to compensate. The later is unlikely in the current residential market, as there is a glut of properties at the moment.
State Goverments are rubbing their greedy hands together in anticipation of an ever increasing stream of revenue.
It is time that we the people got together and told them that enough is enough and to look at reducing waste and spend 'OUR MONEY" more wisely instead of increasing taxes to cover their mismanagement. If my wife and I mismanage our finances the way Governments do, we cannot go to our Employer and ask for HUGE wages increases to cover the shortfall ,the way that Governments are doing to us "their Employer". Bob Carr seems to be hell bent on spending NSW Taxpayers money on all sorts of frivolous ventures like attaching 2x $10000 radio beacons each on about 150 Grey Nurse Sharks and multitudes of Art Grants and other non urgent expenditures while our Hospitals Roads and Public Transport are in crisis, and still is cranking up Taxes on people who are just trying to put asside a nest egg for their retirement, so that they are not a burden on Society in their twilight years.

Thanks again for your interest in this very important forum. This web site is excellent.

Glen,

You are 'We the people'.

If you want action go out and drive it.

I suggest you look at establishing a dictatorship that isn't driven by popularity contests. Then you'd be able to truly say what 'we the people' want and need.

In a democracy you have too many groups who want things at cross-purposes to achieve YOUR objectives....mostly because they are NOT everyone's objectives.

Personally I enjoy having hospitals, schools, law & order and roads.

'We the people' societies generally have a poor record of delivering these services.

Cheers,

Aceyducey

Hi
I think you missed my point.

Hospitals, Roads, Policing and Public Transport are all very important to Society and myself. What I was saying is that the Government is wasting our money instead of spending it wisely on Services, whilst at the same time hiking up taxes to cover the shortfall. Something that you or I cannot do if we run short of funds.
How do you think Michael Egan (NSW Treasurer) would feel if his income remained static or even reduced whilst at the same time his Tax Bill increased by 18% one year and 26% the next year?
