A Northern Territory cat has survived an amazing journey locked in a removal van for 17 days without food or water.

The moggy belongs to a Darwin family who recently moved south to Melbourne.

The cat disappeared when they were packing up to go and the family resigned themselves to never seeing their pet again.

But when their belongings caught up with them more than two weeks later, their very thirsty cat was found curled up inside the lining of a bed.

Apart from being dehydrated, a vet has given the resilient feline a clean bill of health.

I'm not going to show the kids - they will try to use the excuse not to feed the cat for two weeks...

Cheers,

I am lucky this doesn't happen with fish...my only pets at the moment. A fish in the furniture would 'linger' if you know what I mean. <phew>
