Radio was encouraging people to go to the Office of State Revenue site and check if there are any unclaimed funds there.

None for my name but my mum's cousin has $12,000 as unclaimed dividends. I passed on the info and said that I should get 20% as a spotters fee. (joke) :D

The NSW one is here (http://www.osr.nsw.gov.au/portal/page?_pageid=33,63216&_dad=portal&_schema=OSRPTLT)

Not sure about the other states - maybe just check the OSR for the state you're interested in.

I just found $50 there for me! But it seems like a bit of a nightmare to get the information together to send the claim back to them. (refund from 1996)

Really? How annoying that it is 'complex-kated'. Cool if I had helped someone get $50 'though. Merry Christmas from Wish-ga. :cool:

I received my $50 today. It took me a couple of goes to finally get all the information together, but we did it. (you have to file the information within 30 days of registering your intent to claim. if you don't do that, you have to re-register) and the money was back within about 10 days.

I went in just for a laugh- and found $70 belonging to my wife- dividends from GIO shares from 1999. Thanks for that!
