Building Insurance with OFP

Hi,
one of my clients enquired with AAMI and they told her that damage (especially to carpets) through the use of an open fire place (OFP) is not covered under their building insurance policy.
On the other hand, she found out that Westpac's building insurance does cover her.

Just my five cents.

I believe if you use a brokerage firm to aquire your IP insurance, they have a legal obligation to inform you of the extra's.
Whereas if you ring a insurance company direct... they don't. :eek:
