Hi everyone
When leasing a home with an in ground pool, is it common to have the maintenance done by a pool cleaning service and increase the rent (how much is reasonable) or do most of you folk rely on the tenant for the upkeep? I can't imagine the mess if the maintenance wasn't kept up (the leaves would be a nightmare!) and so I am inclined to organise a professional pool service to come regularly. What would a weekly (summer) and fortnightly (winter) service cost in Sydney? There is an automatic chlorinator and solar heating so there would only be cleaning and backwashing and keeping an eye on things to be done.
cheers
Salla

Hi Salla,
I have an IP with a pool but it isn't in Sydney. The arrangement I have is that I pay for monthly professional cleaning (costs about $35) and the tenants pay for chemicals. I didn't say $x/week for rent and $35/month for cleaning the pool, but $y/week for rent which factors in the pool cost.

Regards,
Chris.

P.S. This IP is in Cairns.
