Rec'd my Land Tax notice in the mail last week or so. Cost this year has increased since last year by ~$200. Although the politicians were saying last year that there would be a $150 decrease.

Looking at the individual property taxes, most are about a factor of 10 times what they were 4 years ago!!!!!

so with the 130k threshold - I take it that means if properties are bought in 2 names (my wife and I) then we can double the amount to 260k?

What ever you unimproved land value it should be divided equally between you provided it exceeds $130k and you own it as "Joint Tenants" .

If its owned as "Tenants in Common" its divided in proportion to ownership pecentage.. ie 80/20 - 1 party pays 80% the other party pays 20%
