Qld Land Tax

Hi, all. Does anyone know whether the Qld Office of State Revenue sends out a notice of assessment of land tax if no land tax is owed?

As far as I know, you only get a land tax assessment if you OWE land tax.

If you aren't sure and you want to find out, just give the OSR a call. They will bee more than happy to assist you.

I was due a refund from the OSR for some land tax. I waited a few months, then phoned them to find out what had happened. I was advised that they would just reduce my next land tax bill by the amount owed. I advised them that this was not fair and i wanted my refund in my bank account for the next 8mths, not in theirs. You can imagine the response i got when I inquired as to whether they would pay me 12.5% interest on the money they had for the past 4mths (same amout of interest they chage you if you don't pay your bill on time).:eek:

They sent me a cheque the following week
