OK, I got:

The swift brown fox jumps over the lazy dog...

It seems the letter in the puzzle can be the letter either side of it in the alphabet.

The only thing is the f & t in 'swift' doesn't fit...

May have to keep thinking...

Can you let me know how close or far I am, please Simon?

GREAT puzzle...

I like word puzzles..

Thanks

asy :D

The beginning of a well known book has been encrypted below. Each letter of the alphabet has been replaced by another using a simple substitution technique. For example, A may always be represented by G, etc. Can you name the book?

Mwaey tmg nyqauuauq ld qyl oyhj lahyx dz gallauq nj fyh gaglyh du lfy nmup, mux dz fmoauq udlfauq ld xd: duey dh ltaey gfy fmx cyycyx auld lfy nddp fyh gaglyh tmg hymxauq, nrl al fmx ud caelrhyg dh eduoyhgmladug au al, 'mux tfml ag lfy rgy dz m nddp,' lfdrqfl Mwaey 'talfdrl caelrhyg dh eduoyhgmladu?'

Thanks Simon,

You can try and solve the one I've set for Asy. (Above)

BUT message me the answer. (Ahem no help for Asy on this one: she deserves it!)

PS: it is as difficult as I dared to set it

Regards,

Steve

I will take a look after I get back from the pub tonight. But I will be short a few more brain cells by then!

Curiouser and curiouser it must be "Alice In Wonderland"

The wonderful hallucinogenic story of the girl on magic mushrooms!

Thanks Simon!!

Took a fair bit of time though.

Okay then:

Asy has until tomorrow 6-00pm to crack what I think is a semi-impossible and horrific puzzle!

Then it's open to whoever dares :p

Htuvwx!!!!!
Ecpr ASY,

AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!

You did well Steve!!

Methinks I needs a clue!!!

Can you tell me whether it's a simple substitution, a caesarian cryptogram, or an arithmetic pattern?

Also, does each letter equal only one other letter.

you have done well... Thanks...

One clue, please

asy :D

asy :D

Simple arithmetic patterned substitution!

Each letter can be numerous other letters.

The 'Brilliant' Jas messaged me the answer the same day,
so it can't be that difficult now can it??? :D :D

Jas the GENIUS!

Absolutely - I really did not think ANYONE would come close.

So, aside from the VERY smart Jas, well the challenge is still out there. (Hey I thought Asy and Simon were the buffs at these letter scrambles?)

Steve, I've PM'ed my answer to the ASY puzzle to you!

CONGRATS to Jas and Kev,

The question was:

Htuvwx!!!!!

Ecpr ASY,

Ynpa fkd m Fhtlv hkkwhbk eos vrrnmob!

The answer was:

Grrrrr!!!!!

Damn ASY,

This was a Steve problem for tonight!

There was an issue with
hkkwhbk
it should have been
hkiwhbk

Solution: Substitute the following letter in the alphabet, then the folowing + 1 and so on!

Rather let me say it was easy to set (ignoring the typo), and I don't think I could EVER have solved it! Give me mathematical problems any day
:)

Regards,

Steve
