Actually - Ian has stated in the past that he wants to keep the forum free of advertising. This is to be a totally independent forum.

That said, I do not speak for Ian and Jan, and their views may change on this.

From the forum policy: http://www.somersoft.com.au/forum.htm

"But always remember that it is a public forum and, as such, the views posted are not necessarily those of Somersoft (Jan or Ian Somers) or of any of the forum moderators. Nor does Somersoft recommend or endorse any specific investments or business opportunities discussed by participants in the forum. In fact, the forum is not meant to be a place for classified advertisements. However, there may not always be a clear line between sharing information on investment opportunities and using the forum as a place to simply market products and services. If you think that your post might be interpreted as spam, don’t post it. Furthermore, self-promotion should be by way of deeds not ads. We recommend forum members make their own assessment of what industry professionals have to offer based on the utility of their contributions to the forum."

I have already cautioned Andrew about the expectations of the community in regards to advertising.

Given that the post was not sensationalised, was completely relevant in answering the question and actually kind of useful, I decided to let it be.

I have asked Andrew to participate more in the community by contributing other things to the forum as well.

Ahhh - maybe I should take my own advice and search b4 asking qn's :)

Thanks

Just a further comment - I dont think it would be a big deal if he had contributed other stuff (as you've suggested) Id just noticed he has so few posts and already 2 product recommendations

Hopefully time will prove me wrong and its just been a coincidence and Andrew will contribute lots to the forum
