Where to Buy forum

Hi Sim,

Just noticed the new forum. Although I think it is a good idea as there are many questions about where to buy and opinions of the next hot suburb, I think we need to think about the legalities of this type of forum, eg: we don't want someone recommending a "hot" suburb and a forumite going out to purchase something there only to find that the suburb is a complete dud.

maybe we can just put big fat disclaimers everywhere or something like that.

Just my thoughts.

I think those disclaimers arise from any post in the forum. We suggest all sorts of things to people about all sorts of matters- I sure don't want anyone to come back to me sometime in the future and try to sue me because of a suggestion I made.

The disclaimer appears to strongly separate Somersoft from the views expressed on the forum. The disclaimer on the views expressed from posters seems fairly weak.this is not meant to suggest that such advice is always the best advice Something along the lines of:

"Views expressed are the private views of individuals only, and should never be relied on to take a course of action. Always seek professional advice before acting on any opinion expressed"

would perhaps protect the posters to this forum somewhat more.
