Difficulties

Does any one experience the following

When you sign in your name does not appear in the members area

When you get on chat and there are 6 + people on line no one answers

Any one still having difficulty getting a symbol next to their name

Hi fredo,

(1) If you cant see your name in the members list, click on User Control Panel (user cp), then go to "edit options". The first option is "Invisible Mode". Make sure you tick the No option.

(2) Often a lot of people are in the chat and have the window open while they are doing other things, away from the computer etc. Sometimes you might have to wait a few minutes before they return to the chat window.

(3) Not sure what you mean by a "symbol" next to their name? Do you mean an avatar? If this is what you are referring to, go to the F.A.Qs and click on "How do I get a picture under my username"

Just to add to the bit about chats:

.Some people are permanently logged onto the chat (it would be nice to have the luxury of a permanent connection). Frequently, their nick will reflect this (eg geoffw_away). The connections are kept for logging.

I think user aalbot (or similar) is used for producing weeklt chat stats.

.Some people are just listening to current conversations- or have the chatroom open for a while just to see if there's going to be any activity

.Some people are having private conversations (whispers). You can click on any person's name to open a new window and to start having a private conversation with that person.

There are no avatars installed - you will have to find your own.

Search google for an avatar and upload it yourself using the control panel ("user cp" button at the top of the page). Make sure it is no larger than 50x50 pixels and make sure it is not animated.
