Just caught the tail end of a tv report on promising areas (on one of the 6.30pm tv shows-the ones that usually feature shonky retailers/tradespersons and hard luck stories.

The sea change effect was emphasised. They showed Rosebud and Callala Bay (which I think is on Jervis Bay in NSW). Callala Bay looked beautiful. Rosebud was touted as a cheap entry to bayside living..around $200k-good area for children. I know very little about Melbourne suburbs.

Any comments on these two areas (or the other suburb featured in the program)?

Heaps of land available in Callala Bay and the surrounding areas

prices didnt move for 10-15years and massive increases at the top of the boom (you should hear the whiging about land tax !!!)

just MHO but i dont think you will see a lot of movement for a while - plus there is no public transport out there (well there is 2 buses a day into Nowra) so i dont know about tenants other than holiday letting (not that all tenants require pub transport)

its not exactly cafe society down there either - for that you need to look on the other side of the creek at husky.

ive you need more info ask away......

Thanks XBenX and GeoffW for your replies.

I note from the today tonight link that the first area mentioned was Yeppoon, a 30-minute drive from Rockhampton, in Central Queensland, and about nine hours' drive from Brisbane.

All 3 areas were touted to further benefit from the sea-change effect. The oceanviews from the hilltop property in Yeppoon were stunning.
