40,000 posts - well done everyone !!!
Just some interesting stats for you...
Ian Somers made the move from the original forum (hand written software) to the WebBoard based forum back in February 2001. In fact we are only 8 days short of the 2 year anniversary of the first post in WebBoard !
The first post was made on Feb 26th, 2001 and there were nearly 25,000 posts in total made (including meeting point and caveat emptor posts).
Of those posts, 25,498 were imported to our new vBulletin based forum which went live on September 27th, 2002 (this included 2305 posts from the original forum).
In the 594 days that we used WebBoard, we averaged around 40 posts per day.
In the 144 days since we moved to vBulletin, we have made an additional 14,502 posts at an average of just over 100 posts per day !
What's more, since January the 1st 2003, we have been averaging 116 posts per day, and in the last month have actually averaged 135 posts per day. It seems we are accellerating !
Interestingly, our top 4 posters (me, DaleGG, Rolf Latham, geoffw) have made 5146 posts between us. That is nearly 14% of the overall total ! That means that for every 7 posts you read, it is likely that one of us has posted at least one of them.
The top 20 posters have made 12,790 posts between them, that's 34% of the total.
We have another 10,996 posts in the new forum to go before we pass the number of posts we imported. At our current average post rate, I would say that we will achieve that in 81 days (some time around the beginning of May).
Of course, none of this is important - I just find it interesting :D
