Buying in the US

be careful dealing with the USA

As a Canadian living relatively close to the USA ,that is a country I never plan to invest in. Not sure I could ever afford enough insurance. They will sue you for everything and anything if the oppurtunity arises.Even if it is their fault , they will find a way to pass the blame on you. Even criminals have sued and won against their victims. Being so far away how can you possibly manage/oversee your investment?

Just my thoughts, but I'm sure we get more news stories than you do which may have tainted my perspective.

Hi guys, my wife and I have just closed a home in Rochester NY and the building insurance is proving to be a headache as they only insure up to purchase price if the building was destroyed. Has anyone had a similar experience or know of a company over there that can do better?
