Toolern Vale is north-east(ish) of Melton - about a 5 minute drive, I would think. We lived in Dunvegan Drive and my daughter used to go to kindy at Toolern Vale - 3 minutes door to door, about 23 years ago. Don't think things have changed that much since then. Cheers LynnH

rodimus Personally, I would go for the double garage. We lived in Melton for a while - winters can get pretty cold, and it's much easier to get off to work/school etc if one doesn't have to get the ice off the car windscreen first! :) But that's just my opinion. Cheers LynnH

Peter Mmm ... sandflies. :( We get those here, too - one of the drawbacks of having beautiful water views, I guess. Funny thing is - they love me, but hubby and the girls aren't bothered by 'em. I agree - Tassie is perfect - lived there many years ago, and it was bliss! Don't know how I'd...

But, geez, I haven't been down that way for ages - undoubtedly things have changed quite a lot. Am just starting to research places in VIC (have...

our obsession Thanks for the VG figures. Looks like valuations went no-where between 1987 and 1994 (from our sale and your figures above), but have followed the "doubled in 10 years" theme since then. Mmm - might be worth another look! One for the Melburnians - we were thinking the...

Twitch - what a brilliant description!! Spot on! Traveller - you'd be waiting for a loooong time for capital growth, IMHO. We sold a house in Melton in 1987 for $87,000 - today it would be flat out being worth $185,000. 'Tis the only house we have ever owned (over 4 states) which hasn't...
