Any thoughts on Fawkner?

13 k's to the CBD.
Choice of zone 1 train stations.
Number of nice parks (and no not the cemetery)
Next suburb to the booming ones such as Coburg
Price!!! You can get a subdivision block for around the 400k mark.

I am not too familiar with the suburb but heard shops and restaurants are limited although you can get anywhere decent such as sydney Rd, DFO, cambelfield plaza within a short 10 minute drive.

Are people put off by the large cemetery perhaps?

The cemetery is definitely massive and to be honest is about all i know about the suburb and have seen as my nan is buried there.

The thing that has me interested in it though is its affordability for big blocks so close to the CBD. I cannot think of many other suburbs where this can be achieved.

I feel the prices have already moved significantly.

The main driver I see in the area are the proximity of mosques, islamic school, and the coburg shopping precinct.
