I have a home loan with Bankwest at a variable rate. I am considering to change it to a fixed rate loan and would like to negotiate for a lower rate than what was advertised. I have the following questions:
1. How to negotiate for a better rate? Who to speak to and what to say?
2. Also I have another home loan with another lender which charges $395 annual package fees, has anyone tried to negotiate for not paying this annual fee?
3. What is the lowest interest rate (fixed 1-3 years) in the market at the moment? (Any fine print?) I plan to use this to negotiate with my banker.
4. Should I go through my mortgage broker who help me set up the loan or go straight to the bank?
5. Any other advise?
Thank you in advance...
