Hi All,
Since we've been in process of demolishing a house with asbestos, the topic of demolishing burnt houses came up when speaking with the demo business owner. He mentioned it's much more expensive to dispose / clean up asbestos on burnt houses.
So out of curiosity, a few years ago it was in fashion for people to be buying burnt houses in Western Sydney (Mt Druitt satellite suburbs) in particular....Did the buyers/renovators ever clean the asbestos? Did they get council approval or did they just go and renovate? It's easy to make it sound so easy and a walk in the park but there are risks that go with it.
Also when people buy these burnt properties with intention to demo, I really hope they are doing their DD on costs rather than thinking they are getting a bargain when they may not be.
Curious to hear regarding your experience.
