What is the 'worst' suburb in your city?

From Perth: Can't believe no one has mentioned Butler, Ridgewood etc

Internet Listings - Poor Efforts / Photos

I know that group of properties. In all honesty, that is likely to be the best photo.

List of bad suburbs in WA

However, my point was that the perceived bad areas are often just perceptions, because the media generally only reports the bad things. Piara Waters, unfairly, will for a period of time have the perception that it is full of hooligans smashing the place up every Saturday night. Unfortunately...

List of bad suburbs in WA

Adding to westminster's list, areas considered traditionally bad include Medina, Parmelia in the Kwinana suburbs, and Merriwa and Butler in the northern (past-Joondalup) suburbs. But nothing like good research to dispel a bad stereotype.

List of bad suburbs in WA

Piara Waters probably has a bad rep after the weekend.... the result of one guy's party.

    Perth proposed light rail

Do you mean areas like High Wycombe, Forrestfield etc. I agree with HotRod. 20 years+.

    Perth proposed light rail

I think you need to lighten up, not me. Sometimes people do base their opinions on some tangible evidence, sometimes on touchy feely notions. Either way, I didn't feel that I demanded stats, merely asked.

    Perth proposed light rail

The reason that I asked for data to back it up was that I believe more people will benefit from this proposal than those in Ellenbrook and surrounds, purely because the population of Balga and surrounds through to the city is greater than Ellenbrook and surrounds. The transport out there may...

    Perth proposed light rail

Agree, sounds good. Puts a lot of pressure on the eastern line though. Any data to back that up?

    Perth proposed light rail

For those not in the know already: http://images.watoday.com.au/file/2012/09/02/3602998/Map%2520-%2520low%2520res.pdf For those who have invested in areas pre-rail, how much value would one expect this to add to adjoining suburbs? I would expect Balga, Dianella etc to increase by up to...

Brisbane and Perth - what about these units?

Probably better value for money in one-two suburbs out from W/Leedy - thinking Glendalough, Wembley, Nth Perth. This Glendalough one is crying out for a reno - http://www.realestate.com.au/property-apartment-wa-glendalough-111247683 Slightly more expensive -...

    What are your thoughts???

Since you were vague, I'll adopt wobblycarly's questions. - is this cheap/expensive for the area? REDUCED by $31,000 (6.46%) on 08 Jun 2012 Its under the median price of $495,000. - what sort of rental yield is appropriate? No comment. - what's the area like to live in...

    Railway Line

Graffiti, not just on the back fence, but potentially on the side of the house if the taggers are brazen. I walk my dog past a house on the train line, and have seen the same tag on this house for six months. I wonder if the owner has noticed at all? Also, if it is near a train station...

    Bayswater or Morley?

Baysie for sure. Train station. Plans for development of key areas such as Maylands, Bayswater and Ashfield. Reasonably close access to river. Lived in Dianella/Morley, it's a hole.
