I hadn't organised any insurance on the unit. There is some sort of strata insurance for the building. This will be assessed tomorrow.

I shall keep you posted. From the advice I have been given so far, it seems the tenant is liable for all the damages caused. Strata will inspect tomorrow. Akyboy

Thanks for the replies. I don't know what the damage bill will be, but I'd say it wouldn't be cheap. The damage looks worse than it really is (due to all the smoke damage). My PM, who has been excellent so far, is unable to make a call on who is liable and has advised that my solicitor...
