    too many IPs

Loan application time would be fun if still working full time. My low end properties can be a bit labour intensive. Rent arrears, stupid requests, repairs. If I didn't have these properties then the passive investments wouldn't be time consuming at all

Problem with Brisbane Council -- New Driveway and Tree

when I asked about removing a street tree for a driveway the response was a laugh and "good luck with that one". I ended up having a curved driveway around the tree.

The Mother of All Booms is Coming??

There have been a lot of very ordinary unrenovated houses listed in my suburb in the last week or two. It will be interesting to see if the extra supply of low end properties will result in lower prices than advertised. Offers over 750 for pretty much anything seems OTT when these houses need at...

    Wage increase

When my husband got a substantial pay increase I was straight to my broker to find out how much more we could borrow. When his pay settles back to his normal we should have a few good CG properties under our belt.

Using BA in a hot market...

I just engaged a BA in Brisbane to buy a small development block as its tough to buy up there at the moment. Took about 3 weeks to secure a property.

Changes / tightening on servicing for investors

Thanks Shahin. By the way congrats on being one of the finalists for the broker awards. Lol Sash. I'm not buying in Sydney at the moment so it wouldn't bother me too much if lending tightening was only done here

Changes / tightening on servicing for investors

I've been reading that some of the policy changes are to slow down investor purchases in Sydney. Does that mean that the banks will be more flexible on policy for purchases in other states? Or is that just wishful thinking?

I'm at a conference that weekend so I can't make it.

Has anyone obtained stormwater access from neighbour?

There is a stormwater pipe already on their property, but not running from this one - the pipe runs along the far side of their block and I would require an easement perpendicular to that, to connect it from this block.

Has anyone obtained stormwater access from neighbour?

I have a toe on a property in Brisbane that is subdivideable. However it is necessary to tap into the stormwater for the additional lot by entering the neighbour's property. For those who have been successful with this, did you personally ask the neighbour or did you have someone else...

    Clueless unsupportive mother

I get the guilt trip from my mum when I answer a phone call that's real estate related on the days my son is at home with me. She forgets that if I wasn't doing property I'd be working in the city and seeing even less time with my kids. Be confident in your actions and the knockers will have...

Subdivision and New Build - Virginia QLD

I was getting stuffed around by Hallmark too re timeframes and trying to add more costs without me realusing. While not great for you in stretching out the timeframe, I feel a bit better that my early bad vibes on them had merit.

    Keep or sell?

I have a friend who owns a unit on the lower north shore. It used to be her PPR until she upgraded to a larger unit. The original unit is paid off and is now an investment property. Her accountant has told her to sell the unit and use the proceeds to pay down non deductible debt on her current...

Cheap asses - at what equity position did you begin to relax?

It wasn't an equity figure for me but it was when our IP income covered our PPR mortgage.
