Specializing in Two Suburbs - Pros & Cons

If you implement this strategy, would it mean you won't invest in other areas? Or consider other investment or business opportunities which may pop up from time to time?

Too many gurus...who to listen to????

You gotta find what works for you. What works for others may not work for you, that's how it is. To find out what works for you, you need to get experience. To get experience, do what Sunfish just said. Who to listen to? I'd say this forum is a great place to be. I joined here 8 years...

Does anybody know if this magazine is still being published? Or, any similar to it? Thanks

Cost Plus Contract - $50K flat fee reasonable?

I've never seen this arrangement before, but not very experienced with developing. So is the builder basically working as a project manager and collecting his fee for organising all trades to do their part? Obviously he would want to do the least possible to get the job done, as in no...

    Property Development - project management

Can someone advise approximate costs for a project manager? Something like: 9 units 3 storey 1 mil land cost 1.8 mil build cost DA approved and ready to build Any idea how much a project manager will cost to basically organise and overlook the project from start to finish? Does a...

    Home Gym

Not very likely, even though these would be the most effective weight resistance exercises to do as has been mentioned. Like anything, there are usually many ways to achieve the same goal. Some people will just not be into the barbell compounds, and that's ok.

    Home Gym

Good advice. Not everybody wants to be super strong or super fit. Some people don't have much time or experience to work out and don't want the inconvenience of changing weight plates on barbells. Simple and convenient is sometimes best for some people. Equipment choice can make a...

    Using a Buyers agent

I have engaged the services of a BA in Brisbane. Fee for a 600k property will be around 8k. I'm very happy with the service so far and could not do it myself due to being very time poor as well as being interstate. It could be a very costly mistake purchasing the wrong type of property...

    Home Gym

That Workout World model is expensive. This model has more features, and pobably better overall and it's close to 1/2 the price of the Workout World model: http://www.gymdirect.com.au/item/Power-Motion-Multi-Gym-with-Leg-Press/639.htm For the same price, you could get this...

    Help needed please

This is what I was thinking, surely it's cheaper to rent, especially in the Eastern suburbs. When you own, you will have also have to pay strata fees, maintenance, council rates, etc Also have to fork out stamp duty and costs on your purchase too, not alot left from 100k.

Treadmills....are they suitable for running on?

If a treadmill couldn't handle a decent sized person running on it, it would just be a toy, stay away. Why do you want a treadmill anyway? There are so many better ways to achieve what you could on a treadmill which cost very little and are much more fun and challenging to do.

Caveat on new development by family member

Sorry I can't advise you on the caveat issue. Just some advice, to others as well, which has been mentioned so many times. Family/Friends + Business/Investing = NO !!! Good luck in sorting it out.

    Our 1st equity Mil.

So true. Our first was maybe just over a couple of years ago, achieved after about 8 years from starting. Just did some rough figures again the other day and we seemed to have jumped over the 2 and 3 mil mark without even noticing. I read somewhere that your wealth should double every 3...

    Business options. Bottle shop, feasability?

I know business is business. Plenty of alcoholics around to support your business may not be the best reason to get into this business though. Although, it does seem like it would be a very easy business to operate provided the figures work out. In the longer term, a more productive or...

How close are you to your goals?

I'm not an experienced investor, but would think that the 5 mil net assets would come well before 500k passive income. I'd be very happy right now to generate 10% of net worth in passive income.
