And I read few years back people forge bank cheques and that's why bank cheque now takes a few days to clear compare to many years ago bank cheque get cleared in one day or almost immediately.

How about a person owning a PPOR for ten years over that time he redraw on his loan to buy a car etc etc.
At the end is still his home loan and then he converted it into IP.
Won't he be able to use the whole home loan now as an investment loan?
Hi,
I have this scenario.
I have a PPOR fully paid and an IP on investment loan.
My situation is that when I purchased my IP , I took a smaller loan and the rest was with my own cash. If I were to apply the loan today, the bank will give me another 250K loan.

Sorry Guys, Back to my orig. topic.
Can I confirm if I give 45% share to my wife (currently is 95/5 share between me and my wife) , will I be taxed for CGT or my wife will be taxed?
Thanks
The Loan was under both our names. However for tax purposes we intentionally made the ownership on the title as 95% for me and 5% for wife.
The Bank don't really care about the 95/5% breakdown as if they have no interest to know about it, Its more like we ask our conveyancer at that time to...
Just to confirm this point. CGT will apply right. So I pay CGT , however in the short term if property prices go down, So I end up paying CGT for nothing?
So far from what I can see there's no free lunch, I have to get hit with something for not making the correct decision from DAY ONE.
