Looking at Frenchs Forest as a potential to buy family home. The travel time on 131500.com shows about 1hour...just wondering if people drive to some nearby suburb and park and take a bus to CBD to shorten travel time or 1hr is about right to travel to CBD. thanks

Not suggesting for a moment that there are cheap areas around however I can see that there has been a significant jump for certain pockets around station which doesnt make sense to me given the train station is still years away and potentially may never happen.

Yes my limited research over the last week or so has confirmed this. Area seems to me to be overpriced for the travel to city.

I definitely agree with some of your comments above. However, I am considering the scenario if for some reason I have to sell. Also, I haven't done the maths yet which I will definitely do before commiting but at a high level I don't think $400 per week on GF provides anything more than $150-175...

Heritage stuff is very tricky. suggest u seek professional advice and it will be property specific. If i were you, I wont base my buying decision based on what someone says on the forum here.
