Broken promises by bank - need advice.

Ok, I have got a call 30 minutes ago from BOQ. The manager had told me, after some high level talk, they are willing to reinstate the 7.89% fix interest only for 5 years. because it had causes unnecessary headache on my part but :) that it finally resolved. Thank you everyone and...

Broken promises by bank - need advice.

On early December, I email her this when she said she locked it in for me. Me: "When you said, you locked the fixed rate in at 7.89%, how long can this be locked in for. You obviously realised the settlement of the investment property is not until March 2008." Her: "For you, I will make sure I...

Broken promises by bank - need advice.

Thank you some really informative posts. I will provide more detail once I got home. But this is essentially what happened. I have been in negotiation with the Bank of Queensland in Victoria prior to the Auction. I bought the property and have informed her so. The time of settlement was for 4...

Broken promises by bank - need advice.

Hi, I have been dealing with a well known bank throughout the last few months for an investment property. The lender said she could lock my interest rate in for 7.89% for 5 years. I asked her the all important question of how long can she lock this in. She informed my in her email that she could...

    HDT not so rosy.

I found HDT is still at its infancy. I don't recommend other to venture into this at the moment. Unfortunately I was a bit p#$#@!@# off because I was promised with this and that but in reality it is not. I am seeking an opinion of a property / trust lawyer soon. I will let you guy know what is...

    HDT not so rosy.

Shadow, since there is no single structure that could provide asset protection and negative gear benefit, how would you combine structures to have the better of both world?

    HDT not so rosy.

I would definately not setup HDT if I knew that I could not negatively gear and at the same time protecting my asset. Unfortunately, I have to sell my property in order to dump the HDT structure and loss out the stamp duty and paid CGT. If I don't, it will attracts an annual administration fee.

    HDT not so rosy.

Mry, thanks for the information. As I said, HDT is not so rosy. I could not negatively gear the investment and have asset protection. I could choose either one of the benefit but not both. This was not what I (and many others) was being told before I had it setup. Who else is in this same boat?

    HDT not so rosy.

I set up HDT through an accountant after numerous email conversations with him and from reading posts in this forum. Just to cut it short, he had reassured me that the property asset is protected if I use HDT to purchase the investment property. I could also negative gear it at the same time...

Purchasing in VIC - Frankston Area

jingo, I shared the same experience as you with the above property management organisation with the name that start with "Mornington". The issue I have with them is difficult to believe. Unfortunately the post was deleted by the forum moderator. I last spoken to Andrew Milne 1.5 year ago, LOL...

I got a 3 + 1 Bedrooms house in Winton Ave, Frankston South. I am thinking of selling it. Should I do it now or wait until the completion of the freeway link?

Just got back from an Auction at Box Hill.

I paid what it worth. I was disappointed that there is no bargain. I live in a rental house on the same street 28 years ago when I was little and it was one good memory. I did do a search in this forum for comment on Box Hill but there were far and few information.
