    I know exactly were you coming from. After about 8 mths of looking I bought a brand new BMW, 2 mths later i sold it to finance a project. Lost a stack of $ on the car but made more with the deal. Investing may just simply be in our nature.

    Hi Tobe, I guess we could purchase the property @ 240k and take on their existing loan and then collect rent from the property it will work out less than 500pcm each as the house will return about 1400pcm. But I think if my parents were to pay CGT on this type of transfer then the purchase...

    Hi wobbycarly, Thank you very much for your post. I clearly need to speak to my accountant regarding stamp duty and CGT. I was under the impression that the house could be given as a gift to avoid double stamp duty, at this stage I have no backing on this and could be completely incorrect...

    Very good point would be much easier. Is that something that REA would normally do? - Pay rates, council & water rates etc
