    image size/format for realestate.com.au

Hi Orbitor Re dot com.au require resizing image to 600 x 800 pixels in JPEG format I believe. The pics should come out at around 80 KB or thereabouts. I use a simple (free) software package called "Irfanview". Hope this helps :)

    Tiling over tiles in bathroom

Hi Propertunity I would add acid wash the existing tiles with a 10:1 water and hydrochloric acid mix first. You can mop it on with an old mop. Leave for several minutes then mop off with water. It removes soap scum, fats etc. Forms a clean surface for your waterproofing (if you go down this...

Is "bronze over brass" okay for a statue?

Hi Wylie I have an Asian manufactured piece about 650mm tall that looks like it is brass with bronze detail bits (ie headress, jewellry etc). I think she is the Goddess of Mercy???- not 100% sure. It is not 100% bronze over brass as yours appears to be. Brass as you probably know is copper...

    Vendor Finance Info Needed

Hi Ace Yep you're right. I would rather a clean sale if possible, however, if I needed to vendor finance part of it (I was thinking say around 20%) to get a sale in a quiet market, then would consider it. Would not be too happy with a 20-30 year repayment plan for the VF part, as I probably...

    Vendor Finance Info Needed

    Vendor Finance Info Needed

Hi Everyone I have a prospective purchaser for a property I am selling. They have asked for some help by way of Vendor Finance. As the current market is slow and banks still bloody minded, I can see why VF may be raising its head a bit more often. My only problem is that I have never done a...

    TV recording question

I have been interested in doing the same (recording TV shows to watch later) but I too am a dinosaur in this techy age. Is there any way of recording shows that take out the ads? My big grievance is a commercial stations showing a good movie, which I refuse to watch, as you get 5 mins of the...

    Compact dishwashers

Hi Mary and Matt My personal opinion with the F&P drawer dishwasher is that they are Ok for a PPOR but I would never put one in an IP. Yes they are great being waist high etc but they do not roll with the punches as does a floor standing model. For instance, you can open up a floor model...

    Buying a Welder

I reckon gasless mig (core fluxed wire) is not the way to go as welds end up spattery (is this a word?) and I found the right penetration difficult to get. Then if you attach an argon bottle to welder with the assorted gauges trolley etc you have a not very portable setup (not that you can use...

    'Retirement' help needed.

Thanks again everyone for your well thought out responses which is why this is such a great site for swapping knowledge. I sort of realised after posting that I was probably looking for a somewhat simplistic answer when there really wasn't one to be found. There are far too many variables ...

    'Retirement' help needed.

Thanks everyone for your comments . It is appreciated. Our situation is somewhat akin to kathryn d's. I guess where I was coming from is that investing and having a nest egg built up over many years is one side of the coin. On the other side is being able to use that equity/rental income in...

    Fixing Laundry Tub

Easiest and best is Selleys 'roof and gutter' silicon sealant. Get in small tube about $7.00. Wire brush underneath if rusty or just wipe clean underneath hole. Squirt liberal amount (enough to cover a 20 cent piece say) over hole. Get a mug and half fill with water and add a squirt of...
