1st IP - Sydney - Parra? Macquarie Park?

You would get better yield in Haymarket and most likely better capital long term growth.

    Poor first home buyers Sydney

You asked why should you change the way you live life; it's because time and age moves on. We are not living in a repeated cycle on this planet where it resets to how it was 100 years ago and so on. Get it out of your head if you think life will be the same as your parents 30 - 40 years ago...

    Body Corporate woes...

It may not just be the body corp; it could be a by-law for that building to not allow hanging of laundry on balconies. If it's a common area like a hallway, then you should not be hanging in the first place. If you dress up your balcony with fancy stuff, that could also be a breach in a...

Rip out floating floor and relay it again?

Hi all, A bit of a late reply. Attached is the photo of the 1mm gap. They are planning to come rip the boards out tomorrow to re level the floor so all the best to me and the installers. There are actually a lot of gaps but not as big as the one attached.

Rip out floating floor and relay it again?

The boards don't flex. Only one part of the floor where it does flex which is a high traffic area. Their plan is to pull the boards back up and level it with that leveling compound which is messy and creates a lot of dust when they mox it. Prob get them to mix it outside this time. I am...

Rip out floating floor and relay it again?

Hello, I just had my laminate flooring install call me about the complaint I made about small 1mm gaps where the end of the boards come together (not the end where they click in) and a couple of areas flex as in it is not level. They said they will come to redo the floor, etc. That means to...

    What are you grateful for?

Where I have lived that is better than Australia is not the question you should be asking. If I were you, I would be asking which cities in the world have similar offerings to Australia. It is these similarities that have you comparing to similar countries like Canada or Nth America (western...

    What are you grateful for?

Have you lived in another country before? Clean streets, beautiful beaches and cafes are around the world. Beautiful beaches is not every cultures top agenda and to be honest, a beach is a beach as long as its not polluted. All beaches are the same as in sand, water and coastline. What do you...

    Laminate flooring -

The reason why people do not go for the real thing which is timber is because a) it costs triple the costs or even more depending on quality and b) it's not as scratch and dent resistant. A person with a rock stuck in their shoe would ruin the wooden floor immediately even if its top notch hard...

    Laminate flooring -

I've seen timber in kitchen apartments before. If you're going to be living in it, you just need to be extra careful. Probably wise to put a mat in front of the sink. The surface is ok to touch water like I said, it's just when there is a gap between the planks that water can get into that is...

    Laminate flooring -

You will be surprised how good it looks and you won't get that hollow thumping sound every time someone with boots or heels walk on it. Harvey Normans should have some on display.

Why would you buy in Sydney?

People just want to live in Sydney as first preference in my view; esp migrants. I personally don't think it's the greatest city in asia pacific region but everyone knows of Sydney and has visited it so it just becomes more the norm to want to live in Sydney.

    Laminate flooring -

Laminate flooring can be called floating floor. It could be timber, bamboo or laminate. Neither is recommended for kitchen or wet areas as the backing is usually MDF or HDF. I think if its timber, it has a plywood backing. They will expand and buckle if exposure to water for a period of time...

Do you think IKEA affects property prices?

We live life once and time is critical. This is why prices close to the CBD rocket up in price. I moved to a 13 min train ride in and right next to the M5 east and ED. I'm saving hrs a week now to do better things like sleep in. I've heard stories of couples buying a house out west because...

    Advice on property in Waterloo

If you buy in a big complex, you must have a couple of selling points over the rest in the complex. For example, you buy on a corner lot which good aspect. You buy on a higher floor with views, or you buy one that has a massive main bed room or big entertainers balcony that will sure get some...
