Owner builder valuation for tax purposes

Hi, I have built a unit (owner builder) at the front of my existing residence with the aim of strata titling both properties and then selling the original residence (lived there for 12 years) and renting out the new unit as a investment. We then plan to buy a PPOR in a different suburb. I...

    Do you believe in Ghosts?

I grew up around cemetaries. Dad was a grave digger. My brother and I spent heaps of nights in and around them. Safest place around at night. And o never saw a single ghost.

    Which Phone?

love my HTC desire, although it will not shut down by itself. This is my second one. Great phone but does not handle work sites very well. When I spending more than a day at a time on a work site, I use the tough Nokia.

    part complete sites

There's a part complete house on Cherry Rd in Launceston. It's not even half done though. It's foundations, framing, roofing, windows are in along with some cladding. Good views.

Mission brown bricks & windows Advice

Good point wobbycarly, I was wondering about that myself. I'm waiting on a quote to 1( replace the windows completely, 2) replace the rubbers and seals. If 2) is reasonable in price, I will try the painting and then have the seals relaced with a matching colour. Cheers

Good idea. I'm going to square it of. There is another arch in the porch. It must have been a real fashion statement when it was built :-)

    Launceston anyone?

Do we have many members with properties in Launceston, or, who live in Launceston? I'd be keen to chat with local investors and discuss techniques etc.

How to get a FIFO mining job - Pilbara

my company does a lot of work for mining companies. Lots of new people just do not survive that long in a camp environment, and it is expensive to recruit, induct and traing only to lose a new worker two weeks later. I agree with Marg4000. He should make the move to one of the minig areas and...

    covering brick internal walls

I'd use Gyprock. I have done a similar reno before and I just glued it to the brick. In one room where the brick was not even, we used metal batons. It came up a treat.
