    End of an Era

and here I was hoping to post my "woke up a billionaire" thread, as a sequel to my "woke up a millionaire" thread and then reading the same joke from Jeff for the third time on this forum...

    High Yielding Shares Again

For my DCA strategy to be successful the most important thing to do is to discount all the daily noise and keep buying monthly (it's cheaper now, why would I stop?) and stick with it. Like I said I'll let you know how it goes after 10 years of DCA.

    High Yielding Shares Again

great post Steve. I'm still DCA into my vanguard high yield shares and commercial property funds and reinvesting all dividends. Loved the dividend payout on April 1. It's not sexy but it works for me. I have a big exposure to US healthcare stocks through my JOB so I figure I have enough US...

    Quiggles US Journey

Hi MTR - I've been wondering about quiggles as well. I almost bought a couple of properties in buffalo recommended by him back ca. 2005 I think. I'm really glad I didn't go through with those purchases. Wrong area, neighbourhoods, US exchange etc etc... So glad waited for the timing in Atlanta...

    High Yielding Shares Again

Haven't read this thread for a while but I do so with interest. Would be interesting to see over the next few years how my boring monthly DCA into VHY managed fund fares compared with all the intelligent stock picking going on here. In 2 years I will have been invested in the fund for 10...

    High Yielding Shares Again

same here pretty much. this year I'll be continuing the DCA strategy monthly and buying extra when I see the big dips, and add progressively to my commercial property fund. I really want to get into the US market via Vanguard but don't want to jump in at record highs ???? My only exposure to...

    20 US properties in 4 1/2 years

What a lovely problem to have. For now I'm keeping them as I wouldn't know where to put the money (if sold) for a better return. There's more upside in capital appreciation and AUS/US exchange benefits over the next couple of years. In total at least another 30% (10% on exchange and 20%...

    20 US properties in 4 1/2 years

Thanks for posting Karina. Karina is a truly inspiring person. Sure she helped facilitate my Atlanta purchases but more importantly, in the process, changed my mindsets on investing with a focus on income streams. This has helped in other areas of investing for me.

A specialty shop in Dublin. That is an INCREDIBLE video (and watch). Well beyond my league.

    High Yielding Shares Again

My DCA plan has an automatic buy on the 20th of each month. Watch for the rally to start a couple days before this and peak when I buy :( If the market falls below 5,000 I will probably trigger a large buy.

What are your plans for 2015

There are some incredible plans listed here. You guys are amazing! I don't tend to make too many investment plans as they are largely on autopilot. The only planned item so far is a trip on the Orient Express from Istanbul to Venice and dining at Alan Ducasse's Le Louis XV restaurant in...

    Time Piece Investment

Thanks for posting that link MTR. That's an incredibly complicated watch also adjusting for leap year, what they term "perpetual calendar". In such original condition with case and papers I'm surprised it would only fetch $250K. I sold my rolex to get a couple more patek philippes. A bit...

    Australian Dollar

Hi MTR. This is obviously very good for the Atlanta investments. Like a free rental increase of around 25% since purchase. :)

haha. buckleys. I use these things daily so enjoy the utility and the potential appreciation. It really doesn't form a strategic part of my investment portfolio but interested in anyone making money out of these sort of goods.
