Is there a way for landlords to join forces and boycott kmart?

Maybe you could write them all a nice letter and explain that, whilst electricity is included in the rent it is not a "free" commodity, and that due to the current cost of electricity would they please be mindful of usage, in particular the use of inefficient electric heaters, and could they...

Buying small volume USA shares from Australia?

For me though, just the fact I can now trade international stocks at all, with no minimum trade outweighs that example. eg the other sites I looked at were $65+ brokerage and minimum trades of $2k It surely won't suit everyone, but for the likes of myself that wanted simple access to US...

Buying small volume USA shares from Australia?

So far it looks great, cleaner and faster than Comsec. I have to say too, it was all set up 99% of the way there via online and a couple of verification phone calls. Very good customer service. The final thing is to send in a copy of our signatures for verification and we're all set. I'll...

    Why should I get superannuation?

You're obviously pretty young judging by your comments regarding making 70 sound like it's game over (I'm taking a stab at 26 based on your username?), you'll realize however, that as you age "old" becomes relative. I'm about to hit 40 and used to think 70 was ancient. I have friends in their...

Buying small volume USA shares from Australia?

Thanks for the link. They use "Interactive Brokers", but they lost me at "open an account with as little as $10,000.00". I've opened a NAB Trader joint account this afternoon, very simple process and 99% verified online duration sign up. Just have to send a copy of my signature and I'm...

Buying small volume USA shares from Australia?

Nice one equitymate - I like the sound of $14.95 brokerage. Doesn't appear to be a minimum trade either. Cheers.

Buying small volume USA shares from Australia?

Hi all, Does anyone here buy global/US shares from Australia? Who do you trade through? The ones I've looked at so far are either expensive per trade or required $2k minimum buy/sell orders. I already have a Comsec account for domestic shares, but their International account is $65...

    Netflix..what are you watching??

Love B99 - if you are watching USA Netflix via a VPN, then you can do the same thing for Hulu Plus, (another $8 is per month) but they have seasons 2 & 3 of B99 too.

Sorry to hear about Butters, well done for getting him another couple of years! Yes, 8 years for a Dane is about average, some make it to 10 but very rare. Most die from Bloat before aged 5, (it's like colic in a horses and very common in deep chested dogs), it's almost always fatal, usually...

This is my besy buddy, Huckleberry, our 6.5 year old Great Dane. He's a legend. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with bone cancer 3 weeks ago, and last week he had one of his back legs amputated. He'll start chemo next week, but it is incurable. It will eventually spread to his lungs. He...

Plumbing issue / drain blockage - please assist

Yep, replacement with PVC is in progress. I know what you mean about roots travelling, but my point with council was there isn't really any private trees around, but there is a reserve choc full of council trees all the way up the side of the property.
