That was my initial thought as well.
I have just moved into a new PPOR and payed around $23k Stamp duty. Would not be happy if I all of a sudden have to pay a yearly tax on top of it without some form of rebate from the tax I have literally just paid.
I agree with the above posts about its...
What are everybody's opinion of the proposed changes to the land tax system?
The article states that Stamp duty will be removed but Land tax will be increased and include PPOR (as far as I can tell)...
I manage my own rentals and learn't this very lesson the hard way. I accepted an application, the tenants verbally agreed on a start date, I removed the advert as I was still receiving quite a few phone calls. I sent off the rental contract to be signed and then waited... after 2 days I figured...
Have to throw my support behind the evap units as well.
Make sure you have a large enough unit and plenty of ways for the air to escape and they are more than adequate.
You should only get humidity problems if there is insufficient air flow out of the house.

I tend to meet alot of other dog owners on the beach while walking the dog and quite alot come from the Northern Suburbs to...
Suburbs around Semaphore sound like what you are after.
20min by train to city.
On the beach.
Or for a bit more money Grange or Glenelg. Both have direct train or Tram to the city and are on the beach.
I live in a Semi (ppor)
The other house has been renovated and looks beautiful (1900's cottage style).
The half I live in needs renovating. I don’t feel limited at all as to what I can do as the houses are on a corner block so therefore have 2 separate street frontages. The only thing I...
I can see the merits of a large rainwater tank in the country.
But as for capital cities, would the extra power you use powering the pump needed get water pressure from your rainwater tank counteract the environmental benifits of using a few less litres of water? unless the pump is running...
