Help! How to pass on waterbill

My husband and I recently purchased and rented out our first investment property. The tenants have been living there for a month. Earlier this week, we got a water bill for the property. It's in our name so obviously we have to pay it, but is this something we can pass on to the tenants? The...

    Buying in Yarraville, Victoria

Rent is very low for this property in Williamstown. "Presently Let until 01/06/2009 and returning $737 P.C.M. you can elect to move in after June or simply keep the property Rented." Works out to be $170/week. A two bedroom in the same apartment complex as this Yarraville unit is...

    Buying in Yarraville, Victoria

According to Residex, the property is worth $255,000. It was last sold in 1976 and based on the capital growth since then is estimated to be worth $235,000 today. If you were a numbers person, and buying it for $230,000, it doesn't seem like a bad buy.

    Unit Size

Thanks so much Spiderman and Rixter. That makes a lot more sense than what I thought. Should we take the agent's estimation as close enough, or should we arrive with measuring tape to measure it ourselves? More worried about auction than anything, because we'll have no way to pull...

    Unit Size

Hi. I'm new here so I hope I've posted in the right forum. My partner and I are hoping to get into the investment property market for the first time. We've looked at a few that we like and we're also aware that banks will only lend to a particular size, however, when we ask the agents what...
