If its a rental, and you have no intention of moving in I wouldnt overly stress about it, go to your local carpet shop and get samples. Send the one you like to the shop near your rental and ask them to match it as close as possible.
I would at least get a mould specialist to inspect and make an assessment, and then you can take it from there.
