Reporting it to the police won't prevent it from happening. The police cannot stand guard 24/7. An attempt is going to happen regardless if reported to the police or not.

I was hoping to avoid this time consuming task. I'm sure someone has done this already and would know.

Problem is; The chairperson of the committee has it in for me and is likely standing in between the communication of myself and the body corp organization...? I'm not entirely sure how far a chairpersons rights stretch. This is all new to me as a property owner... It just hurts not knowing...

Hey guys. As a lot owner in a complex that is managed by a body Corp. What rights do I have in obtaining simple information from them, for example when is the next lot owners meeting? I find it difficult to pay the levies when they won't return my calls or emails. Note; QLD based.

Should i also contact my landlord insurance company ? As its possible the damage is covered by both and without a professional assessment by both parties there is no clear indication of the extent each party is responsible for.

I doubt the BC insurance will cover pest damage. But if the termite problem has been caused due to the water damage then i could have a case.

Are these types of situations usually dealt with a lawyer present? I don't feel as if the BC is entirely helpful.

Thanks Paul. I met with the PM onsite the day after being notified of the damage and took photos. They were not helpful at all. I struggled to get assistance from them. Should i contact the body corporate directly perhaps?
