    Cute quotes from kids

My 4yo daughters Kinder teacher pulled me aside one day to tell me about a serious conversation she had with her during class. My daughter told the class how her Mum gets really angry when Dad farts in the car and doesn't wind the window down! The teacher had to walk from the room she was...

    17 year olds

I have a little bit of a different opinion but I know everyones kids are different so we have to handle situations differently. Do you get angry with your son very often? If not..I would show how angry you are and raise your voice if you need to and let him know you are really angry and...

    Jail over tradies Death..

I am referring to the above article Sunfish which actually doesn't say anything about the tradesman being 80% responsible.

    Jail over tradies Death..

I know Sunfish...I've just become so cynical these days:)

    Jail over tradies Death..

Hmmm...the timing of this decision is somewhat suss. So if I or the government send around a qualified electrician to audit my foil insulation that was installed by a government qualified installer and the electrician is injured....I am responsible!! Maybe the government are expecting the worse...

    Fat Club - lost 100kg's

Hi Jess, I'm with Kristine on this one. I lost 13 kilos on Cohens and have now worked out what food does and doesn't work for me. I am 46 now and no longer eat bread and other carbs that just make me bloat. I struggled to lose any weight even though I thought I was eating healthy and...

    Current/ex-military types...

Raaf - 1983-1989. Trained at Point Cook as an Indonesian Linguist for 12 months. Graduated as a Corporal much to the disgust of the Army students. DSD Melb for the rest of the time. Pretty cushy job - Work hours 8-4 , rostered day off a month, no parades or military-type activities. Those...

    Geelong - Units & CG??

Well I live in Bell Post Hill. It takes 15 min by bus into central Geelong compared to almost an hour using two buses from Waurn Ponds. Takes a whole 10 mins to drive into central geelong and you are not battling the traffic that you do from the otherside of town ie. Waurn Ponds, Highton...

    laserlight

Artemis, I'm glad you have found something that works. A couple of questions - Is it a clear paint and does it block much light out?

    laserlight

We have the same problem. We have laserlight over pergolas on both sides of the house(previous owner put it there). We have resorted to putting 90% shadecloth over the top in summer to cut down the heat. It does help but makes the house much darker inside. I hate the stuff.

    Geelong and the TAC

Hi Pete, Just had a look through the Geelong Advertisers real estate section today and you will get a very nice home for $500 thousand. I actually think Geelong is very reasonable priced at the moment For example, there are houses in Highton (10 min drive from Geelong CBD) for around $399...

    Real Estate Thieves, laptop missing!

Hi convert, I can sympathise with you and your predicament. There seems to be Opportunists everywhere these day. I went to the Aus Open tennis with my kids last year. My daughter left a little bag on the back seat of the car when we got back to the car it was open and the bag was gone. It...

    Navrainvest Fund Performance (Calender Year)

Hi Sim, Great to see your post about real dollars invested in Steve Navras fund ( so much more interesting that reading about hypothetical percentages). We have money invested with the fund and like you are very happy with the results acheived so far. I have tried to learn as much as possible...

Wakelin Property Advisory - opinions please

Hi Peter, I'm surprised she suggested Geelong too. Seems to go against her mantra of 5-7kms of CBD. I don't know where you would find a unit for 180 -200k in a good area of Geelong at the moment. The properties we bought in Geelong in the last few years were positively geared and undervalued...

How not to rent out your property

Gregss and Pink Panther Years ago when I was a renter I remember the frustation at missing out on the places I wanted and there was nothing I could do about it. We have a few Ips of our own now and the final say on the tenant rests with us. The PM goes over the applications and presents them...

    What was the catalyst?

Hi Dos We completed our first development this year. We crunched the numbers over & over, received bank approval and figured if we couldn't sell we could rent all three units and the bank agreed. I think the catalyst for us was the builder. He has been building units in the same area for...

    Flight information

On our last Virgin flight passengers were told to turn off mobile phones, laptops and washing machines!! We were also told there were cameras in the toilets to catch out any smokers. I'm a real fan of Virgin and I love their friendly and fun loving attitude. Someone told me that the reason...

    Sold Stickers

Hi James, Thanks for your reply. My mother lives close to the property and a sold sticker has never been placed on the board. She rang the agent and they said the property was sold. It is a funny situation because the same agent had another property for sale just down the road and it has just...
