    gifts for grandkids

We're buying our grandson a blackboard, does that count? ;) We put money into a savings account from the day our kids were born (not a lot, cos we didn't have a lot) and gave it to them on their 21st birthdays. I put $10 a week away for our grandchild at the moment but will probably invest...

    painting security doors

Lizzie, most light industrial areas have a powder coater. Just try looking under 'powder coater' in yellow pages or your local community directory. We've had two doors re-coated with excellent results and they weren't expensive at all.

Secure Mesh Door v Pet mesh

I've got one of each. Pet mesh on the door leading to the patio (as we have cats), this door doesn't get left open at night. Security mesh on the sliding door leading from our bedroom to the pool area as we like to leave it open while we sleep. The security mesh is quite expensive BUT...

    itwv

Hi Lizzie. No I haven't done ours either, so good on you for getting it done. I actually DID it back in May but then couldn't submit it due to a glitch at their end and then kept forgetting. Mr Minx got laid off and got a (bit of a) redundancy package and I have absolutely no idea how to...

    Laundry renovation ideas appreciated

Our PPOR was built in 1984, which probably tells you a good deal about the laundry. The rest of the house over the years has been renovated (kitchen, bathrooms, paint, flooring etc), but the poor old laundry is still original condition. Beige square floor tiles (in perfect unchipped...

Bees - how to get rid of?

It just cost me about $160 to remove (kill) a swarm (also Perth). Petrol will kill them as will Mortein. I know it sounds harsh, but so did the $160! I thought that I could get them removed, but no one was interested that I rang, they only told me they would kill them. :(

    Before Settlement - Questions

Marg I was assuming that Kim would have the 'everything in working order' condition on her O&A. If she does, then these things are part of that. To do this we have the power turned on at the property from the date of settlement.

    Before Settlement - Questions

Personally Kim I'd wait for settlement, though I understand WHY you want to get organised. With our second settlement, I didn't find out until the actual day of settlement that there was going to be a delay. Up to you of course! Just methinks.

Sorry to hear that. There is nothing worse than getting a cold or the flu at this time of the year. Hope you feel better soon.

    The Off Topic Thread

I love these theories, wish they worked. I'm not one of these people who can 'trick' myself into anything ;). Saying that, I have eaten less this week and drunk more water and have gone nowhere near any scales.

    PMs in Port/South Hedland

Also sounds pretty standard to me too and that's for Perth, I would have thought it would be more expensive up there. Not sure how you could PM from a distance?
