Car's auto transmission won't gear down well: any ideas on root causes?

Haven't had the recommendation to get the transmission fixed/replaced yet. So far it's only the ECU. Fingers cross this fixes it enough for me to offload the car.

Car's auto transmission won't gear down well: any ideas on root causes?

Thanks for your response Aaron. The car has been serviced regularly; and the last transmission service did include flush, etc. Stall guess is correct. If I let it be (i.e. don't interfere with the shaking while slowing down) then hear a bang and then we apply the brakes immediately. Have...

Car's auto transmission won't gear down well: any ideas on root causes?

Guys, In a bit of a pickle with the missus' car. It's a 10year old RAV4 and having it's first ever issue. Basically the auto gears won't change down and this causes the car to start shaking / vibrating rigously when slowing down. Have been to a toyota dealership and they have recommended...

    Rent rises for new tenants

These are pretty good numbers. Assume the rent was below market value to start with? Also any rent assessment issues? Rent rises for new tenants

I've got an IP in Essendon; and haven't seen that sort of increase. Infact the tenant is vacating end of Aug and PM adivses we may have to lower the rent due to high vacancies in the area

    smart meters

that's a good idea. Looked at these sites a while back and perhaps time to revisit. I wonder if they do ToU (Time of Usage) tariffs as well?

    smart meters

Sorry to say so but it might. MIL is stay at home retiree ... and going nuts over this at the moment. The other bit she find's it hard to absorb is that it's not going to make any change to the overall energy consumption (change of habits that is); unless she's prepared to fork out fair few...

    smart meters

that's a really good suggestion. How do I find out about companies / distributors in victoria who don't have current plans for smart meters? The installation is on Friday 29th and would love to get out of it if we can.

    smart meters

Bingo ... you have hit the nail on the head for me. This would help explain why everyone complains about the bills going up .... and didn't tie in with my logical thinking that it was simply a smart way of measuring electricity usage and shouldn't have a bearing on end $$$ (with exception of the...

    smart meters

MIL has received a notice re: smart meter installation at her property (Victoria). She's worried that it will drive up her elec. bill (media hype?); whereas my understanding is it's simply a better way of capturing existing usage and shouldn't make a difference on $$$ front. Anyone here care...

    CBA fixed rates reduced?

Looks like CBA might have reduced their fixed rates? I was looking at the 1year fixed rate last week at 6.94% -- however checking again today it's at 6.84% (inc. wealth package discount). Upto 3years is now below 7% (inc. wealth package discount): 1 Year Fixed 6.84% p.a. Comparison Rate...

    Early retirement

Hi Rixter, Perhaps if we run through an example? Let's say 6m in equity ... borrowing 1.2m LOC for living ... 10year cycle ... 80k per year lifestyle. Let's also assume interest rate at constant 7% to keep it simple. Based on this scenario, at start of the cycle I'm geared at 20% LVR; and...
