Blowing bubbles ... ?
I'm a shareholder. Happy to take it on the chin, Steve's advice and the investment made in the managed fund did some great things for us, the fact my paper shares are likely worthless isn't the worst thing to happen to me. But reading the www.navra.com.au website, versus...
I took the tip from this thread and went to Tony at Kitchens Direct. Had to do a large U-Shape kitchen (around 3m each side) plus a 3 metre wide bar with pantry and cupboards. All 2 pack and black granite came to around $6K. We self installed and the stonemason (for another $800) covered up...
Huge congrats on the move Michael. Brisbane is funny in the way once people live North, South, East or West they never seem to move far !
We are westies, and moving to new PPOR in Kenmore Hills (in the hills away from the floods ;-) ) Just joking ... there are tons of places in Brisbane far...
RPI - that is the most sensible explanation of the Ipswich property market and socio demographic I have ever seen. All those property analyst firms should sub-contract you for a dose of 'real world' advice. Well done :) Hopefully people considering the area will at least heed your thoughts...
Actually Strannik, Willair is right in relation to the character of the house it doesn't look like the typical style people try to salvage the character of. If you raised it, it'd probably need verandahs all round to give it street appeal, and if you added up all the potential costs it might be...
Hi Strannik
Maybe get a couple of house raiser / restumping people to have a look ? Doesn't look like a difficult raising job based on my limited knowledge
Cheers

Sorry Skater - I think I gave you a bum steer - Google might have tried to gazump the clever people who came up with those ideas as I couldn't get 'em to work ...
I found an easier way that actually works though
1. Go to :

2. Enter the URL for the video you...

Great post Simon. If the last couple of years has taught me anything, its that having offspring, win or lose, and to be able to watch them grow, is just about the best thing that can happen to you
I left Year 12 with a TE Score of 795 in 1984 which only just got me into Ag College (which I skipped to go and work a crappy job).
In 1999 I completed an MBA which took 6 years on and off, purely to make my employer of the time shut up.
There was some value in the discipline required to...
Anything involving timber of any quality is just sooooo expensive :( You can get some real nice functional aluminium stuff now - it'd be hard to go past on the bang for buck basis. I doubt a valuation will take into account the huge amount extra spent on timber windows as long as the dwelling...
Sorry but that can't possibly be right. SeeChange must be halfway down the Road to Damascus by now :

Right Seech ?
:D
Actually we did one more Stainless kitchen since the one in this thread, and have now recently built a new house and went with the standard laminate finish to control the budget a bit. We really miss the stainless steel when we could put hot pans etc straight on the surface, drop things from a...
Acey I don't think there is much censorship involved on InvestEd so probably worthwhile posting :D I might stand corrected, but most people would find it interesting I think ... in fact I think there is a thread on a similar topic : http://www.invested.com.au/forums/7/pre-ipo-investments-640/
How anyone could invest in TLS, having been a customer of Telstra, beggars belief to my blinkered way of thinking. I've dealt with them at a Corporate, Government, small business and home user level, and at every turn they have never failed to astound with their complete lack of customer focus...
Yeah come on Ed - make us all jealous ! :)
On the Bill Zheng thing, I went to my 3rd seminar of his in Brisbane last weekend. I enjoyed each of the others a lot.
I was nearly convinced I would shell out for his mentoring program this time (but hard to get the time to attend Melbourne at...
Hi Babushka
We recently did exactly that, selling PPOR to a trust, with it becoming an IP.
If he needs something 'tax effective' it might be worth mentioning HDT (Hybrid Discretionary Trust) which allows the ability to claim negative gearing benefits.
The downside of transferring the...
Ok Seech - I think I understand. Because an influential group of people whose opinion you respect appear to believe in Steve Navra's strategies, you are considering buying shares in the company (these being the unlisted version) because of potential future growth ?
But whether or not you...
Totally accepted without reservation :D
Probably depends on whether you feel you would gain anything, and/or if you have anything to offer, Bill. Why not, indeed :D
