    Removing big trees

also check out the 10/50 rule from RFS, may not apply in your area - but it means we can now get rid of a tree we couldn't before our house was built...stupid laws! We could have dropped it before the house was built for next to nothing, now it will cost many thousands.

    Newcastle - Mid-Build Inspection Recomendation

Hi All, Currently building our fist house, thought it would be a good idea to get a private inspector to assess for any issues before Gyprock goes on. We now have a roof and Sparky and Plumbers are coming this week, so Gyprock in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Does anyone know someone that is...

Helping a Bad Saver - Cosign Account?

Hi All, I have a friend that is not good with money, after many years of trying to help in various ways, one of the last options I thought of was a savings account where he can't get money out without someone signing with him, and that someone not letting him get money out except for things...

    No Contraception, No Dole ???

We are blessed to have such a generous welfare system, but cursed to have so many people abuse it. I have always been a fan of the idea of neutering everyone at birth, then getting fixed once proven to be a capable parent... of course that will never happen and who defines a capable parent...

    Drainage easement

pumped will cost the owner a lot more in both setup and maintenance, so they will take that as a last option. the pit is the cheapest option, which they will take if allowed. It's essentially dig a hole and put gravel in, then it will discharge into your place (if you are downhill) and you...

    Random Act of Kindness

Sounds like the second person is just lazy. IMO opinion a random act of kindness should be something that the person provided to feels 'special' or whatever. Paying for someones groceries is a good idea as mentioned by someone else. I've done knock and runs: leaving cash, flowers, food...

How should we ask a nice tenant to leave

You could also do it through the agent and advise you would be happy to be a referee on another application as they are great tenants. The reality is, if you are renting, it is a temporary situation so it should not really come as a surprise - so long as you give enough notice to them.

    School Reunions

I didn't go to my 10 year as none of my friends were (We kept in contact) I figure it would be just like high school - people trying to show off and bully other people. The closest I had to a reunion was about 5 years out of school when I ran into the school bully at a pub, he decided to...

If that is the case - it will potentially depend on the sibling then, not the spouse? (assuming it doesn't get nasty)

Sibling Joint Owned During a Divorce

Thanks Terry - They don't intend to defeat the entitlement. My thoughts were if they sell now, it gets it out of the way - the divorcing party can then just split the money then. I was just worried that they may be forced to sell at a fire sale price and lose money.

Sibling Joint Owned During a Divorce

Hi All, My parents have investment properties through inheritance. They are shared with a parents sibling. It appears the sibling will be getting a divorce. My parents will probably seek legal advice over this, and the sibling certainly will, but I am hoping for some general...
