    Bath or No Bath Poll

I voted bath - but it depends. 3 br house in the burbs - definitely 1 br apartment on Bondi beach - maybe If you have the room add a bath, not having one may limit prospective buyers or tenants in my opinion

    Anyone watching the cricket?

Clark I was never a big fan, but I love that he let Hussey get 150 and then declared, before getting up to or passing the Don.

3rd Row seats in medium sized 4wds?

Thanks all for the responses! Will look into the Odessey and Grandis. I found that 3rd row seats can be fitted into some cars that dont have it as a factory option including: Falcon / Commodore station wagons Honda CRV pre 2006 (26kg) Landrover Discovery series II and III Range Rover...

3rd Row seats in medium sized 4wds?

Hi all, Baby #3 is on the way and the missus and I are on the lookout for a larger vehicle (the Honda civic just wont do it for size). The Good Lady wants a 4wd with third row seating. I dont want to buy a new car, I want something below $25k, that has (or can have added), the extra seats...

Every man has to have a shed

Is that the case with industrial/commercial? Surely replacing some roof sheeting is a repair?

Comment by 'TheBacon' in media 'Real House Prices'

Thats a very interesting chart. Based on the last few peaks and following dips we should see (or have seen) about a 25% drop from the peak to the next low. Thats if the trend in increasing house values continues. If we revert to an index of 100... thats about a 50% reduction... Who knows...

HELP! Old tenant suddenly extends lease when I already found a new tenant to move in

I dont agree that if one uses an agent then it should all be left to them. I need to manage all of the people that do work for me, understand as much as I can and make sure we are all going in the same direction (i.e. my direction). I let professionals do the work for me, but not unsupervised...

Stepping stone # 5175 - this is it

I've been away from the forum for some time, so this is a little late, but congrats Dazz (or whatever you call yourself on here now). Truly inspirational and all that touchy-feely stuff. What I enjoy most is that you sound like any number of guys I could be chatting to over a neighbourhood...

Negative gearing on the way out

I wonder if owning a rental property means I must support the Libs and talk down Labour? Ah yes, since Rudd beat Howard we have the GFC, increased refugees, etc. Couldnt possibly be that the boom we had had nothing to do with the Libs and the bust has nothing to do with the ALP? I agree...

    My Purchase - Bassendean... Thoughts

Congrats! $315 is a nice price. Whilst being on Lord St might put some people off, it probably will have little or no impact to the amount of rent you would get. Also - I've read elsewhere (here and in API magazine) that houses on main roads, although they sell at a discount to quieter...

    WA Recovery for Investment Potential?

I find getting realiable rental figures for a property to be a bit difficult, anyone able to find a source of this info? 7% yield sounds great! Would only need to be a little bit cretive to make something neutral or positive...

Malcolm Turnbull the new alternative PM

Turnbull can go two ways in my opinion: 1. Become Paul Keating: intensly hated and brilliant at the same time and become PM 2. Become Mark Latham. I think to simply assume that the nation will vote Lib now that Turnbull is the leader is to underestimate the efficient / boring / bland / safe...

    WA State election is today

Barnett? So, Colin Barnett is the new Premier. This is NOT good news for the state. This guy is a moron. I have no problems with the Libs winning, power sharing etc (democracy works like this after all), but Barnett is bad news for the state. If you thought Carpenter was bad, just give...

    Feedback on Ashfield, Perth

Industrial along Guildford road. Mix of state housing and new housing in the middle Good area river side of Hardy Road The industrial entrance to the suburb is a little off-putting. Nice walk along the river. So, what came of the meeting? Any immediate plans? Any zoning changes?
