    End of an Era

Oh my, So sad. Thank you for a wonderful forum. I have loved being a part of this community. I have been educated, amused, infuriated by some of the stirrers on occasions. Shared highs, lows. So many emotions. Sad day indeed. Hope that you all transition to what I am sure will be an equally...

    Pics of Your Pets!

Marley, My beautiful boy. Nearly lost him, a few days ago, he had Haemoragic Gastritis, couple days at Vets, couple thousand dollars later, but worth every cent. Propagator, I am so sorry to hear about your beloved pet. I equate the love I feel for my four legged family as that of my...

    CBA insurance vs ANZ

I had a nasty break in, entry through smashed sliding glass door, was in winter months so freezing, had tried entry through front door and unable to enter because of deadlock, so much force used required new front door and security screen. Several internal doors smashed, tv, dining chair smashed...

    Tree roots causing damage

I had a house years ago, plumbers were my best friend coming out to eat up all those tree roots from my old terracotta pipes at least once a year. One misguided plumber told me it was my trees. Rather then suck it up and replace all the pipes with pvc, I eventually cut down my two large trees...

    canvas blinds or tinted windows

I second roller shutters, best thing I did. Previous house I had a canvas awning, it was ok but roller shutter makes for a pitch black room and noise reduction. Tinting windows, parents had it, minimal reduction really for heat, come winter no winter sunshine so were cold miserable rooms.

Just found out I'm having twins...

Congrats. My first pregnancy was a twin pregnancy, I lost one at 10 weeks didnt even know until I miscarriaged that one. I would never have coped with two. No family history of twins. Girlfriend had twins, she relates how difficult it was, but sure she was chosen. She was super organised...

Need a wine country break? Here we are ...

Best of luck Lizzie. First place I check is Trip Advisor for reviews, I too would be happy with this kind of word of mouth rather then a rating.

    Best of the Best

No all time favourite book, I just love reading. I love crime, murder, thrillers. Like Jodi Picoult. I abore violence though, yet love these type of books. My absolute favourite movie and recently read the book, Black Hawk Down.

    Should we fund barbiatric surgery

No way, it is a mind set. I know four people who have had lap bands and two who have had gastric sleeves. One in particular lost 50 kilos, was looking great. Seems they hit the two year mark and the are well and truly go back to their old terrible eating patterns. They can stretch their...

    Bbq

I bought one last year, love it. I bought from a BBQ shop on special. I have the gas connector on the alfresco and wanted one with the temperature gauge Masters only sell the basic models. I waited for the regular 20% off days at Masters and bought the cover and stand then.

Deciding between a cattery or house/pet sitter

I highly recommend Swan Valley Cattery. I used them a few years ago for my two inside cats. Small cattery, lovely owner, clean, wide choice of food. Cats have lovely area with an outside bit attached to their run. They are popular and given they are small I would go out for a visit and book...

    Byron Bay visit

Ok, thanks. My girlfriend and I love going to conferences interstate. Tax deduct and we always make sure we fit in lots of sightseeing, we just go go go. A few years ago I took my son to Tassie, he pleaded with me to stop and could we just have a day of doing nothing, he was exhausted at...

    Byron Bay visit

Thank you everyone, knew I would get good advice and opinions. Alright I am convinced. Lol, now have to talk my girlfriend in to maybe a few more days either side of the conference. It will depend on her work obligations as to whether we can fit more days in. I now agree maybe a flight in to...
