    Went to an open house yesterday and someone there raised a point about asbestos - how prevalent is this stuff in older houses, say 1940s bungalows? Should an asbestos report be done on all older properties or just in the case of the suspect ones?

    Valuer wants more money if val exceeds $1.5mil

    I'm finding this kinda weird...I'm getting a val ordered, the bank came back and said oh if they valued the property >$1.5m, they will want almost $800 for the val compared to stock standard $220. Am I missing something here? Thanks :D

    The property is in ACT, the vendor is my housemate and I might be interested in buying that place when he gets desperate. When he sign an agency agreement with the agent, can he put my name in there to exclude them from pocketing commission should I ended up buying it?

    The usual spiel - drain blocked, water jetted it out, appears to be tree root (haven't done a CCTV inspection yet) and recommend dig out and replace the darn pipe... Have anyone got the damaged pipe relined as oppose to replacing it? How's your experience with the process? Thanks :o
