Is the worst now over for Gladstone...?

Hi all, Managed to get a tenant. $280 p/w is better than nothing. Hopefully things don't get any worse and in a few years growth returns. I simply can't afford to sell so i'm hanging on for the long term!

Is the worst now over for Gladstone...?

Lol yeh. Lots of first home buyers there could do well if growth returns. Gotta hope Clive's Nickel project goes ahead and they stop releasing land and building more houses.

Is the worst now over for Gladstone...?

Been valued by two local agents between 260-280k. Really wish I sold around 2011-12 when it was valued at 380-400k. Expensive lesson. Would sleep better if I could lock in a long term reliable tenant.

Is the worst now over for Gladstone...?

Anyone know how the banks manage your outstanding debt if you sell a property at a loss? ie. Would you get to keep the same interest rate and term to pay the remainder even without a house as security? At this stage.. the bank can have "their" house in gladstone and do with it wat ever they...

Is the worst now over for Gladstone...?

Hi All. I am wondering if anyone has some insight into the Gladstone market. I bought a 3x1 established house in 2010. Since then I've seen the value and rental return go up, then down (significantly) Currently the house is vacant. Not much interest for rental. I'm thinking about...

    Loan Default Question

Hi all, I have a question. Lets say you own multiple property investments and they all have loans with different banks. If one of the properties has gone south and you can't sell it. What if you decided to walk away from it, stop making payments and let it go into default and allow the...

"Just from research and references here and there. To be precise, there is 2,600 residences in SH available for rent. Of those 128 are vacant or advertised for rent, or close to 5% vacancy." You care to elaborate?

Gladstone QLD - How is it Going????

I live there, and I know lots of people share houses just to get somewhere to stay. People pay 400-500 a week just for a room. I work with someone who shares a 3 bedroom house with 6 people. My workshop base their recruitment on what houses are available, not the actual need for labour...

Gladstone QLD - How is it Going????

"The SWQ figures show Gladstone has a 5.6% rental vacancy rate, compared to other mining regions such as Port Hedland (WA) 4.6%, Karratha (WA) 3.7% and Roma (QLD) 2.6%." wow,, I live in hedland and if the vacancy rate is 4.6% then I'd hate to see what 1.9% (national avg) looks like. Excuse...

    miles or chinchilla

It seems like the rental market is very strong in Chinchilla and Miles, But not sure about sales. This could be a good thing though,, if investors stay away, then rents might continue to go up.. hmm.. might make it hard when it comes time to sell.. but in 10-15 years who knows what will be...
