    Colorbond colour help please.

Thanks Westminster. Wall colour is yet to be decided. I thought that having two different roof colours would look odd? It is at rear of house but roof colour will be visible from some angles eg: when you walk up side of house and approach the deck in question.

    Colorbond colour help please.

I'm adding a back entertaining deck to a 1930s home which has original/old terracotta roof tiles. The deck roof will be colorbond steel. If anyone is familiar with the red tones of CB, what's the best/closest match? So far have seen on internet Manor Red and Headland. Manor Red seems almost too...

Learning about shares and bonds etc

Thanks everyone! I'll checkout the posts on here; and as redwing said, and I agree, I love the people on here but thought I'd better ask about others as this forum is property. Thanks ergo - yep, tech analysis sounds too advanced for me at this stage, I'm only a beginner! What's "value investment"?

Learning about shares and bonds etc

Hi. Can anyone tell me a good place to start in regards to learning about buying and trading shares. Perhaps there's a great forum like this one but for shares? I'm not a speculating type, more a long term thing. Thanks.

    Greasetrap cleaning

Anyone know if the tenant is responsible for cleaning out greasetraps in a NSW RTA? Thought they would be seeing as they put the sludge down the drain? Smell has become apparent on vacating.

    Is Newcastle a good option?

An out of town valuer said recently that the inner city Newcastle market is slow. He is wrong, but you can't tell them! Also discarded more recent comparable higher priced sales to my detriment. Trying to sort out now.

    Do rodents eat dog food?

I understand what you mean by how far up the food chain; I guess that's what I'm questioning, I'm differentiating between insects and grubs etc and larger things like mammals (including rodents), fish etc. They are all "meat", but for example, would you give chickens steak bones to pick at or...

    Do rodents eat dog food?

Just for information's sake; hiding bait isn't foolproof, if a dog chooses to eat a poisoned rodent (either dead or alive but in process of dying from bait) the dog will also be poisoned. The Fence's bistro comment is funny; well I thought it was! I've never had dogs who don't devour their...

    Do rodents eat dog food?

Of course they'll eat dog food. The dog food can be kept in a mouse proof container (we use a heavy plastic bin with a secure lid). Not sure what the pest controllers can do as most of the poisons are also poisonous to canines. Re: traps, someone still has to kill them or let them go, just to...

    Teenagers, Piercing and Tattoos

Is it just me, or do others agree regarding the Asian "tribal" tats in the link. It looks to me like it just sort of "goes". What about the Maori ones, they look good to me, but not so much on white skinned people? Maybe I just think it looks ok because I know it's their culture to do it?

Malala day ... she is such an inspiration

Sorry Ideo, understood you now. It's just the way you worded it is likely to be interpreted by many the way I did. I agree with your thoughts though.

not allowed to take pictures !!

"The media are scumbags." "Couldn't agree more." Me too! This is a good one; anybody seen the footage of an injured Palestinian bloke who is stretchered into an ambulance and then he promptly climbs out of the ambulance vehicle and walks away totally unencumbered, media still happy to...

Holiday in Europe - tour or self guided

I haven't read all the replies but I would recommend that less is more - don't try to cram too many places in a short time and do it yourselves at your own pace. Personally, I can't bear the mere thought of doing an organised tour. If I like a certain little village, I'll damn well stay there a...

Malala day ... she is such an inspiration

Ideo, she was shot in the head some time ago by the Taliban for advocating that girls should be educated in Pakistan. I think she was eventually flown to England for the best medical treatment available and it was all over the news. She wasn't shot while doing the speech. People die doing stuff...

Advertising IP for rent with multiple agents

From a property manager's point of view it's simply annoying and a waste of time because the owners or other agents seem to constantly forget to let you know what's happening (eg: a tenant has already been found and accepted etc) after you've already spent time on it. As someone else said - if...

    Newcastle developments

Yes, Propertunity is the man. He has purchased two properties for me in Newcastle and I am very happy with the purchases. I love the value for money that you get there in the inner city and people from other areas are starting to see that too.:)

    The Bucket List thread

"If I go travelling I have a great time- and it stops there." Really? You sound like a tourist on a hold your hand organised trip! I have to disagree with you and say that a lot of what you see and do while travelling changes your whole life. I spent a lot of time travelling to mostly...
