    CBA have phoned me and advised that if I complete the forms now to refix for 3 years they will honour the current 3 year fixed rate. Evidently anyone can do this within to 42 days of there fixed rate finishing. And there is no fee involved. :)

    I am with CBA and my fixed rate is up on 2 August. I want to rollover to another 3 year fixed term, but are scared CBA will follow ANZ's lead and increase there 3 year fixed rate before then. Can anyone advise how I could lock in the 4.99% rate now so that was what applied come the 2 August.

    As I have mentioned on another thread I think they are more likely to follow NZ and no longer allow depreciation to be claimed on buildings. Also possibly no 50% discount on capital gains on shares or property could be a target.

    Is that one of her ideas??. Maybe she did have some good ones. I also think Australia may follow NZ's recent changes where depreciation cannot be claimed on buildings. This would have a desired affect on government revenue without getting rid of negative gearing.

    I have asked CBA if they will match ME Bank 4.99% for 3 years. They got back to me yesterday asking which loans I wanted to fix. I was expecting them to get back to me with a "NO". They advised they will confirm whether they will match ME Bank by close of business on Friday.
