    Waterproof membrane under concrete slab

I think it is a requirement for a habitable dwelling and my Surveyor asked me whether there was a "membrane under the concrete slab to stop damp rising."

    Waterproof membrane under concrete slab

I'm happy to throw plenty of money at this problem to fix it because the alternative (knockdown and rebuild) is very expensive but I don't think that is what you meant!!

    Grout dries unevenly

Thanks for your reply. That's the strange thing, it doesn't seem lower in the darker areas and the darker areas are faintly visible even when completely dry. The water falls correctly towards the drain. I don't know about sealer. Thanks, Crystal

    Grout dries unevenly

We recently employed a builder to renovate our ensuite. After a shower, the grout dries unevenly which looks strange. I have attached a picture which shows the shower recess 48 hours since taking a shower. Has anyone seen this before? Is it normal? The builder said that the grout doesn't look...

Insurance for non-council approved Granny Flats

Hi BV, My granny flat has been rented for years. The council won't approve the granny flat due to the land size. They're pretty common in my area and 99% are not council approved. I really don't want to evict the tenant or lock up the cabin. Hopefully someone can suggest an agreeable insurance...
