Can't sleep! The Q:Buy 'bargain' stocks or Let funds stay in offset?

Leveraging to invest in shares is one of the riskiest things you can do. I don't think you should recommend it to a beginner.

Can't sleep! The Q:Buy 'bargain' stocks or Let funds stay in offset?

It is tax free in the sense that it is only reducing the interest you pay on your mortgage..you aren't actually earning interest..so how could you pay income tax on it? Whereas you will pay capital gains tax and income tax on shares.

    Rise of the Creative Class

I think the reason the gap between the rich and the poor is increasing is because wall street screwed the economy and walked away with multi-million dollar bonuses while everyone middle class and below is forced to pay for their mistakes. The reason people are rioting is because they have no...

Can't sleep! The Q:Buy 'bargain' stocks or Let funds stay in offset?

If I have the choice between a tax free, zero risk return of 7% and putting my money into a high risk investment fund run by someone with no experience I know which one I'd be choosing!

What careers does commerce lead to and what about Uni property courses r they a good

You can't just say uni is a waste of time for everyone. How well you do with a commerce degree depends on how passionate you are, how hard you work and whether or not you're bright enough. I know people who have grad jobs paying $80-100k and their bonus will double that figure. Within 2-3 years...

What careers does commerce lead to and what about Uni property courses r they a good

How much would you earn in those types of jobs? Where do you find out about them? I'm looking on seek but I don't know what to search for!

What careers does commerce lead to and what about Uni property courses r they a good

Can anyone tell me how I would get one of those mining jobs that pay $80-$100k. I graduate at the end of the year but because I don't have a grad job I'm either looking at more study or being unemployed for 6 months (or working in retail or admin for 6 months) until mid year vac programs start...

How hard is it to get into a Private School if you're not baptised?

Warren Buffet went to public school. Going to public school doesn't mean not getting an education. It just means not paying a crazy amount for it and not being forced to sit through morning and afternoon prayers and Religious Education/Church! It's just my opinion and my experience with...

How hard is it to get into a Private School if you're not baptised?

I really wish my parents had sent me to a government school and put the money they spent on my private school fees into an account for me! I'd have used it to pay my Fee-Help debt or as a deposit on a home. I think having attentive, supportive parents and being from a higher socio-economic...

What careers does commerce lead to and what about Uni property courses r they a good

If you're 100% sure you want to work in property I'd go for an actual property degree (or a property major) like this one: www.rmit.edu.au/programs/bp209 Many real estate companies specifically look for people with property related degrees like CBRE, Colliers, Jones Lang LaSalle, Westfield...

Oh I meant plan out the furniture/kitchen/bathroom ahead of time.

    The Block

It would be so easy to pre plan everything. I'm sure you could get the floor plans of the places they're doing next season. But I guess you risk doing a bunch of plans and then not getting on the show. Would they take another female couple next season? They seem to only ever have one couple...

2 yo manipulation - does it exist?

I think experienced parents are a good source of information. But at the same time there are doctors, psychologists, scientists and dietitians who dedicate their lives to researching this subject. I just think reading some of their work would be helpful. Many parents raise children who will...

2 yo manipulation - does it exist?

This explains a bit about why toddlers are picky http://www.askdrsears.com/topics/feeding-infants-toddlers/feeding-picky-eater-17-tips I think this part is pretty interesting: "A child's demeanor often parallels her eating patterns. Parents often notice that a toddler's behavior deteriorates...

2 yo manipulation - does it exist?

I'm not a parent but I don't think you should worry about forming good eating patterns yet (as far as 3 meals and 3 snacks or anything like that). I think young children eat erratically and it's normal. If they don't want to eat don't force them. Don't guilt them about starving children in...

    Top Design - Wednesday night

I thought the final product was much better than what we're seeing on the block at least. It's all crammed into the one episode which is so much better than spreading it over a week too. I really disliked all the contestants though. The only one I liked was the Asian girl. The rest were all...

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

Hmm I'm not sure if I agree with "eat less" (if you mean quantity wise rather than calories). I actually think in some cases weight loss can mean eating more and eating often! You just have to be eating the right foods which are nutrient dense. I've known some large people who eat very...

    The Block

Lots of info here http://www.walkingmelbourne.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6824 It's sad they weren't allowed to have roof top gardens. They've purchased four more houses in South Melb for the next season...

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

If you look at two people with an equal height and weight one can have a very attractive, healthy body and the other can have a very flabby, unattractive body. Two people with the same BMI can be totally different looks and health wise. The difference is exercise! When it comes to diet I find...
