Opinions on my neighbour's property for sale

I am interested in what you guys think of my neighbour's property. It is advertised at http://allhomes.com.au/c/ah?a=sp&p=262062 It has been on the market for a while but the agent does not seem to be very proactive. It is a vacant sale (not sure if that is right term) since m neighbours...

    Mysterious stains

thanks geoffw. Telewand, that rings some bells. Whatever it was it was certainly handy. $22 a day is good value considering it took me close to 4 hours for the 3 scrubbing methods. Still have to work out how to get the stains off the fences, presumably the pressure cleaner might work...

    Interior rendering

great discussion . . . I would like to get an idea of the cost of gyprocking vs rendering a new block house internally. No skirting boards or cornices, just the power points and light switches that'd need redoing. I know gyprocking is quite a bit cheaper but I understand that rendered...

    Mysterious stains

Thanks heaps yadreamin and Kristine. I treid your suggestion of bore water stain remover and it worked! Used a pretty hefty scratchy scrubber too. I tried three other methods, as a learning experience rather than to complicate things. Next method was home brand liquid bleach in warm water -...

Remote opener for garage roller door

Cosmo, it's not really a rental area. In fact I have the smallest house (but a very nice block) in whole suburb. But the owner occupiers would all have them. I probably should be comparing to the closest rentals then shouldn't I. Noone seems to have manually operated garages these days although...

    Mysterious stains

Hi guys An IP I am buying has stained external walls and fences. It is a bit of a mystery to me what the cause is. It is brown and starts at ground level and goes up about 40cm. Has anyone seen this before? any ideas on how to remove (without repainting) and how to prevent? My research so far...

PIA exe file can't be found

Hi, I bought PIA a few years ago and used it way back then and subsequently uninstalled it. Now I am trying to reinstall on a different machine and the installer seems to work until I come to opening PIA (via icon or through explorer) and it says it can not find the exe file. Has anyone come...

Which interstate removalist do you recommend?

considering all the horror stories you hear about dodgy removalists there has got to be some good ones out there. It is only for a small ammount of stuff - one bed, one coffee table and some spare kitchen items. ta

What is the cheapest car hire?

For those of you who use hire cars frequently, please share where you get the best deal. I recently got a $35 day deal with Hertz for days through a broker. Insurance excess was only $750 too instead of $2500 ish which seems to be the norm in QLD. Except now I was expecting to get the same deal...

    Systematic assessment of roof dodginess

I am trying to work out a systematic way of determining whether and how dodgy a roof is ie how soon it might need replacing. To give you some idea what I am dealing with, I am looking at old cheap queenslanders, all of which look (to my extremely unknowledgable eyes when it comes to roofs) like...
