Love the story so far - we have been to Hawaii seven times - nice time to be there with the exchange rate hovering aound 90c:). Can't wait to hear more - like the blog idea as well. Paul

    Anyone flown with Air Asia?

We have flown Air Asia X from Coolangatta - KL - Phuket return with no dramas. Paid a little extra for bulkhead seats - food is no better or worse than any other airline. Appear to be a young aggressive style of company with big plans for the future - in my opinion will only get better...

Anti Procrastination Thread - Done your tax yet?

As others have stated, we do a little bit right through the year which makes everything seem a little easier at the end - always find it a little frustrating waiting for the final bank statements and health fund paperwork. Been to the accountant (a new person this year due to a long term...

    Who has read Nelson Demille?

Love all his work - especially love the John Corey/Kate Mayfield characters of Plum Island, The Lion's Game, Night Fall, Wildfire. Plot twists via the use of 9/11 are intriguing. Also very much enjoyed Up Country - we have since been to Vietnam and are keen to go back.

Sea, River, Sunset, Park, or Valley View?

Given the options, a sea view wins easily - but if it also included views of a golf course we would be in heaven:cool:

Will RBA reduce rates by 0.25% or 0.50% in September

I reckon 0.25% - but how much (and how quickly) is passed on is another question. Paul

Air Asia 1000,000 seats @ 0 fare sale

We have flown Air Asia (Coolangatta - KL - Phuket return) and were extremely happy with the value for money - the low cost terminal at KL is a bit inconvenient (although quite efficient) but there are plans to integrate it into the international terminal. Their Asia network is quite extensive...

Opps...The Bank "lent" us an extra $250,000

Call me old fashioned but I cannot believe there is anyone on this forum that would not contact the Bank immediately upon noticing the error - if the boot was on the other foot there would be all types of screaming and gnashing of teeth.

Time Share and equivalents - including Trend West

We have owned timeshare in a resort at Coolangatta for many years (although have only stayed there once). We are in a group called RCI Points which has enabled us to stay in many resorts in Australia, Fiji Malaysia and Hawaii that we would otherwise not have been able to afford...

Capitol Gains at Robina on the Gold Coast?

Purchased our PPOR at Burleigh Waters in 1999 for $189,000 - would be worth in excess of $400,000 now - the 100% scenario would apply to all of the Gold Coast in my opinion. A definition of the Gold Coast - not just Surfers Paradise:)
